Shanxi Construction Engineering Group Corporation (International Name: Top International Engineering Corporation) was founded in 1950s, which is the only large state-owned group enterprise with top-class qualification for general contracting of building construction in Shaanxi province. It is authorized to operate its business and economic-aid projects abroad and qualified to undertake complete foreign aid projects construction tasks for A-level enterprise. The total assets of the corporation are 19.394 billion RMB; with 21,336 listed company personnel of which 3721 have got nationally registered qualification certificate, including 3,133 Chartered Constructor and Chartered Associated Constructor, 1149 people got senior professional titles and 3483 people got intermediate titles. 19 experts enjoy special government allowances and 6 experts made outstanding contributions to Shaanxi Province. During the last 60 years, SCEGC has taken the economic construction as the main battlefield, emphasizing on equal development both in and outside the province, in China and overseas, adhering to the development strategy of “assuring good quality, optimizing the country, creating quality brand”, continuously strengthening quality management, and pushing science and technology advancement, and have completed a number of qualified civil engineering projects, airports, road construction both at home and abroad, overseas subsidiaries have spread over 15 countries. By 2012, 31 projects had been awarded the Lu-ban Prize, the highest architectural prize in Chinese construction field, 22 projects awarded national high quality engineering projects, 183 projects awarded the provincial construction engineering title “Chang’an Cup”, 4 projects awarded One Hundred Classical and Historical Projects for the sixty anniversary of the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, 2 projects awarded One Hundred Years Outstanding Civil Works Prize, 2 projects awarded China civil works “Zhan Tianyou” Prize, and awarded China Construction Steel Structure Golden Prize, China Installation Engineering High Quality Prize, Golden Cup of National Municipal Demonstration Project, China Construction Engineering Decoration Prize, etc. SCEGC obtained 126 patents, more than 241 provincial level construction methods.
In 2012, the corporation ranked No. 321 of “Top 500 Chinese Enterprise”, No. 17 of “Top 60 National Engineering Contractors”, No. 14 of National construction competitiveness industry. The communist party committee of the corporation was granted as National Excel Advanced Party Organization by China’s CPC Central Committee Organization Department, was granted as outstanding achievement enterprise by provincial government, was awarded Shaanxi quality management prize, was awarded Shaanxi scientific & technological prize, advanced company in the Investment & Trade Forum for Cooperation Between East & West China, which was awarded “the Luban Prize”, the highest architectural prize in Chinese construction field, for its outstanding contribution, and the title of Advanced Engineering Project Management Enterprise by China Architecture Association, and also one of the most outstanding enterprises for overseas project contracting by China Construction Association.
